Joseph H. Broecker
Mr. Broecker is Chairman and Managing Director of Periculum Capital Company, LLC, a private investment and merchant banking company concentrating in the Midwest. Periculum places its major emphasis on the healthcare industry. Mr. Broecker was previously Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Investment Banking of NatCity Investments, Inc., which is the securities subsidiary of National City Bank. Mr. Broecker has served in several senior executive capacities in the medical device and diagnostics field with Boehringer Mannheim and its predecessor Bio-Dynamics, Inc. Mr. Broecker is also a partner in several venture capital partnerships and serves as a director of a number of public and private companies. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has a B.B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and an Executive M.B.A. from Indiana University.
Adel Korkor, M.D.
Dr. Adel Korkor is the Medical Director and CEO of Purity Dialysis Center that provides chronic renal dialysis services at seven locations throughout Waukesha County, Wisconsin. In 1974, Dr. Korkor graduated magna cum laude from Medical College, Damascus University. He completed his medical residency at the Hahnemann Medical College affiliated hospitals in Trenton, New Jersey. Dr. Korkor's first clinical Nephrology Fellowship was at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. A combined clinical and research Nephrology Fellowship at Washington University, Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri followed. Dr. Korkor served as an instructor of medicine there for one year before joining the staff at the Medical College of Wisconsin. At the college he served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Nephrology for six years. In the fall of 1987, he established Nephrology Associates. In addition to his vast clinical experience, Dr. Korkor has published and spoken extensively on topics related to hypertension, kidney disease and metabolic bone disease.
Fredric I. Orkin
Mr. Orkin is currently President of Fredric I. Orkin and Associates, Inc., a medical products design firm, and has been a key consultant to HemoCleanse, spending considerable time assisting with the redesign and manufacture of some of HemoCleanse's early products. Mr. Orkin received his B.S. in Industrial Engineering in 1957 from Ohio State University, graduated from General Electric's Professional Business Management Program in 1967 and completed the Executive Development Program at San Diego State in 1974. From 1957 to 1971, he gained extensive experience in program management, quality assurance and reliability in the Aerospace Industry. From 1971 to 1978, Mr. Orkin held similar quality assurance management positions with large industrial companies. From 1978 to 1985, he was Corporate Director, Reliability and Quality Engineering for Baxter International, an $8 billion worldwide health care products manufacturer, and from 1985 to 1991 he was Vice President, General Manager of Baxter's Multiplex System Division assigned by top management to develop and market an automated multiple intravenous fluid delivery device. Mr. Orkin took early retirement from Baxter in 1991.
Norman R. Weldon, Ph.D.
Dr. Weldon is currently Managing Director of Partisan Management Group, Inc., an early stage venture capital company that assists with the funding and management of medical device startups. He is also on the Board of two medical device companies he co-founded. Dr. Weldon received his BS in Biochemistry in 1956, MS in Industrial Management in 1962, and PhD in Economics in 1964, all from Purdue University. He has been the CEO of three public companies: CTS Corporation, Cordis Corporation and Corvita Corporation. He was a co-founder of CTS Microelectronics, Inc., Corvita Corporation, Novoste Puerto Rico, Inc., Novoste Corporation and Enable Medical Corporation and he is a director of two mutual funds: New Economy Fund and SmallCap World Fund.
Robert J. Williams
Mr. Williams currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ARTEC Environmental Monitoring, Indianapolis, Indiana. Mr. Williams served on the Board of Directors of ARTEC, Inc. from 1987 until 1995 when he purchased the environmental monitoring portion of the business. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University. A veteran of the health care industry, Williams served as President of DePuy, Inc., in Warsaw, Indiana for 23 years before retiring in 1985. DePuy, now a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, was a division of Boehringer Mannheim Corporation and is one of the nation's most respected producer of orthopedic appliances such as artificial knees and hips.
